Within the scope of internationalization, rpc – The Retail Performance Company, a joint venture of the BMW Group and H&Z Management Consulting, continues its expansion in Asia by opening a branch in Japan. The consulting firm, which is specialized in the automotive, mobility and retail sectors, is thus further expanding its position in Asia with the aim of establishing its expertise in consulting, training, performance and digitalization internationally.
“Building on our 10 years of experience, we are very excited about this step to gain a foothold in Japan", says rpc Managing Director Jan Schemuth. "We see great potential in the established automotive market of Japan, especially in the area of digitalization and process optimization.”

The company in Japan is led by Eifion Roberts, an experienced management and Asia expert with more than 20 years of experience in responsible positions in the international automotive, finance and consulting industry as well as 12 years of expertise in digitalization projects and retail sales.

The focus of activities is on digitalization. "The demand for digital solutions is increasing worldwide, analyses show great potential in Japan", explains Eifion Roberts. “Our aim is to support automotive and retail companies in fully exploiting their digital potential and sustainably increasing their performance. A key driver of this expansion is the BMW Group itself, which is advancing the digitalization of Japanese car dealerships.
This project, initiated by the BMW Group, aims to shape the processes and digitalization of future car dealerships in collaboration with local dealers. As part of this partnership, rpc – The Retail Performance Company will contribute its expertise to further increase the efficiency of the dealer network. In addition, coaching and training programs will be offered to foster a sustainable performance mindset.
